FCE Broadcast for 2019-2020 School Year Join FCE’s Broadcast Team This is an enrichment class only offered to 5th Graders for the 2019-2020 school year. Students will meet with FCE’s Instructional Tech Specialist during 5th Grade’s Coyote Club time to create a daily broadcast. We will meet daily for 20 minutes as long as the students have completed their classroom work. If your child is interested in joining the 2019-2020 FCE Broadcast Team, please fill out this form . (Dads of Great Students) Engage men, inspire children, reduce bullying and enhance the educational environment at your school. WATCH D.O.G.S. is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for the students and to enhance school security. Today, more than 2,811 active programs in 46 states participate in the WATCH D.O.G.S. Program. WATCH D.O.G.S. was founded by Jim Moore, a concerned father who chose to take action in response to a 1998 middle-school shooting in Jonesboro, AR. Joined with the National Center for Fathering in 2006, WATCH D.O.G.S. serves to inspire and equip men to be the involved fathers, grandfathers and father-figures their students need. Complete the Round Rock ISD online volunteer application . *** It takes about a week to get clearance, so plan accordingly! You will not be notified by the District once approval has been granted, but you may contact the school’s front office to verify everything is in order before coming. 2. To sign up for a date, go to the Sign-Up Genius FCE Watch DOGS sign-up page . You will need to create an account for the site, but then you will be able to sign up for the date that you want. FAQs: What time do I need to be at school? Plan to arrive by 7:30 a.m. You will need to check in at the front office. We would LOVE to have you arrive before school starts so you can begin working with our students and see your WatchD.O.G. Dad video on the KI-O-T News broadcast. How do I be on the KI-O-T News broadcast? After you and your children check in at the front office, walk to the Science Lab (Room 404). Our broadcast team will create a short interview to be aired on the morning broadcast show. Please bring your child(ren) with you for the interview. What type of schedule will I follow? You will be given a schedule that is flexible and has been designed so that you can spend time with your child at different times of the day. What about lunch? The schedule is designed for you to assist in the cafeteria and also have lunch with your child. Adult lunches are $2.85. Cash and checks are accepted. Please keep in mind that you cannot use your child’s cafeteria account to purchase your lunch. Can I volunteer more than one time? Absolutely! In fact, we would love for you to volunteer more than once – it makes a difference in your child’s education. What should I wear on the day I volunteer? Please wear comfortable clothing. You will be helping out during recess and will also be doing lots of walking. What are the Watch D.O.G.S. t-shirts? These are t-shirts that the National Center for Fathering has designed for the use of the Watch D.O.G.S. program. They are the “uniform” that dads wear on the day they volunteer. Please note that you do not have to purchase a t-shirt to participate as a volunteer.
